The inaugural two-day festival features more than 11 events, including writers’ talks, performances and family activities.
Starting on Saturday, soak up the festival vibes in the curated outdoor space along the riverbank. Packed with arts and nature activities the FREE event is sure to delight the whole family.
Join maker spaces where little artists can create their masterpieces inspired by our special authors or join Nature Play SA and make a sunflower bee-bomb to take home and plant! Drop in to one of the free author talks featuring well known national and internationally acclaimed writers and thinkers on nature like; Baileys Women's Prize Winner, Hannah Kent; Award-Winning Poet, Jill Jones; and 2020 Dorothy Hewitt Award Winner, Karen Wyld or listen to storytime, get your face painted or have fun with the giant lawn games. All ages and abilities can learn how to draw a pelican with renowned illustrator Mandy Foot and finish the day off with an evening of live entertainment and Pirate Life Bar.
Ticketed workshops on Sunday features four expert-led masterclasses at two across two locations - Folklore Café at Hart’s Mills Precinct and One Seed HQ in the heart of heritage Port Adelaide. Perfect for those wanting to learn about the craft of nature writing and how this can help inspire meaningful connections with our environment.
