WOMADelaide 2015 Line-up

We're thrilled to present to you artists coming to WOMADelaide 2015, led by Senagalese icon Youssou N'Dour and Irish super-group The Gloaming alongside 23 more of the most exciting artists from across the globe!

Returning for his third appearance at WOMADelaide in 2015, the legendary Senagalese singer, percussionist and social revolutionist Youssou N’Dour boasts a career spaning over three decades, including a recent period as Senegal’s Minister for Culture and Tourism, and an attempt at the countries presidency.

Praised as the man who brought Senegalese music to the world, N’Dour is today one of the most influential cultural figureheads within political and musical circles in Africa and we're ecstatic to present him at WOMADelaide 2015.

Transatlantic folk super-group The Gloaming is comprised of New York pianist Thomas Bartlett, sean-nos singer Larla Ó Lionaird (Afro Celt Sound System), Chicago guitarist Dennis Cahill, fiddler Caoimhín Ó Raghallaigh and fiddle master Martin Hayes.

Merging traditional Irish folk with New York contemporary, The Gloaming create an inimitable fusion of music that is as sparse and sacred, as it is rich and authentic.

Sinéad O'Connor needs no introduction. One of the world's biggest music stars as well as one of the most iconic Irish artists of the past thirty years, Sinéad O’Connor is a powerful force both on and off the stage. An unrivalled singer, gifted songwriter and a unique voice in pop-culture, Sinéad O’Connor continually challenges the status quo and returns in 2014 with a new album and a new confidence in songwriting and expression.

The father and son duo of Toumani and Sidiki Diabate represents one of Mali’s most important musical and ancestral lineages, maintaining over 70 continuous generations of kora players. Toumani, a true griot and performer of genuinely exceptional virtuosity and creativity, has established the kora as one of the world’s great instruments, an accomplishment that has led to his being a key musical and cultural ambassador of the African continent.
